McLayne Bobo breaks soccer scoring record

GRAY DEYOSports Writer

Senior McLayne Bobo has just broken Tullahoma’s high school girls’ soccer record for most goals in a career with a remarkable 94 goals.

Bobo continues to etch her name into sports history at Tullahoma. Last year for the basketball team, she hit the 1,000 points mark, and this year, in a completely different sport, she is now the new scoring leader in the extensive history of the Lady Wildcats soccer program. She is a special athlete, and she just has an innate ability to excel in the sports she plays.

“She can perform at a high level during the highest stressful moments. Her ability to regulate and maintain during those times.  It is like fuel to her drive and performance,” said head coach Richie Chadwick regarding Bobo.

“McLayne has really developed and matured into a phenomenal athlete.  Over the years, you could see the maturity of her on the field.  Things/events that would occur during a season when she was younger (that would bother her) are handled totally differently now.  Her repressive coping is very high and strong.”

Bobo will look to tack on more goals to her resume in the postseason as she closes out her last chapter of her soccer career at Tullahoma and in general.  Bobo back in August, committed to play basketball at MTSU.
