GRAY DEYOSports Writer

The Tullahoma boys bowling team picked up wins against Lawrence County and Marshall County on Oct. 16 and 20. The girls’ team also picked up a win in their first match of the season against Lawrence County.

Lawrence County

The boys’ team continued their great success in the 2025 season. They improved to 3-0 on the season with a 2,722 to 2,430 pin win against Lawrence. In one of the games, the star of the show for Tullahoma, in setting the tone for the match, was Chase Dodson. The junior posted the highest score of the match in game one, posting a score of 237. JT Brooks also put up a big number in the opening game, posting a score of 230.

In game two of the match, the Wildcats showed off the depth of their team, with two other players having the highest scores of the induvial game—Korbin Thompson and Jensen Rodgers. Rodgers in game two picked up 236 pins, and Thompson had 210 pins.

In the girls’ first match of the year, they had a tightly contested match against Lawrence. They picked up a 1,999 to 1,964 pin win against Lawrence. Tullahoma had to mount a big comeback in set one after a player on Lawrence’s team posted an outstanding score of 246. This big score gave them an 874 to 775 lead against Tullahoma.

Olivia Williams was the major player who stepped up in game two to give the Lady Wildcats a win, posting a score of 233 pins in game two. Miaha Johnson also had a big game, posting the second-highest score of game two for Tullahoma, knocking down 171 pins.  Williams ended up having the most pins in the match for Tullahoma with a total of 379 pins. Their contributions led to the Lady Wildcats outscoring Lawrence 980 to 799 to get a win, and submit a 1-0 record to start the 2025 season.

Marshall County

The boys competed against Marshall County and tacked on another win, making their record 4-0. They won the match 2,673 pins to 1,955. There was not one player who ultimately stood out in this contest; it was their dominance as a team that got them the win. In the match, they had eight scores in two games of 200 pins or higher. Marshall as a collective just had one. If they can continue this trend throughout 2025, they are capable of beating anyone.
