Ignite Fitness Holdings – one of the largest Planet Fitness franchises operating more than 130 locations across the U.S. and Canada – recently celebrated the grand opening of its new location in Decherd. Planet Fitness invested nearly $2 million to build the new, 10,000+ square-foot facility at 92 Bible Crossing Rd.

A grand opening celebration was held on October 21 and began with a speaking program that included remarks from Mike D’Andrea, Regional Director of Tennessee and Georgia at IGNITE Fitness Holdings, Franklin County Mayor Chris Guess, Decherd Mayor Mary Nell Hess, and Chris Hawkersmith, Coordinator and Safety Director of the Coordinated School Health program in Franklin County. 

“We’re incredibly grateful to the Decherd community for the warm welcome we’ve received since our newest club opened,” said Mike D’Andrea, Regional Director of Tennessee and Georgia at IGNITE Fitness Holdings. “We are proud to open our doors to the greater Franklin community and look forward to providing a safe, supportive space where everyone can focus on their physical and mental well-being.”  

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and as part of its ongoing commitment to the Decherd community, Planet Fitness donated $1,000 to the Franklin County School System for their Coordinated Health Program that organizes health and wellness events for local students. 

In addition to state-of-the-art cardio equipment, the Decherd club offers plate loaded strength and smith machines, numerous flat-screen televisions, fully equipped locker rooms with day lockers and showers, HydroMassage beds, massage chairs, and more.

The facility will be open and staffed 5 a.m. – 11 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, 5 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Friday, and 7 a.m. – 7: p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
