New Pilates studio opens in Tullahoma

A new Pilates studio, Graceful Movement Pilates, has opened by certified Reformer Pilates instructor Jayda Wright. The studio is located at IQ Fitness 210 NE Atlantic Street.

As a high school athlete who didn’t go to college and play a sport, Ms. Wright tried to find a way to stay active. She considered personal fitness trainer and physical therapy as a career but was not passionate about either. When she found Pilates she ‘instantly fell in love with her first class’.

According to Wright, “It wasn’t just the class but the instructors, people, studio and the way it made me feel after each class. The Pilates world is an amazing and positive group. Pilates makes it real easy to want to take care of your body, to learn more how to take care of your body and to feel and look good while you do it.”

Wright feels taking care of your body comes from a higher calling. “I believe our bodies are amazing and beautiful temples designed by the Lord’s hands and we should honor Him by taking care of his perfect work.”

At Graceful Movement, personal classes are available from beginner classes to extremely advanced exercises as well as a jump board to add a cardio workout.

“Pilates is a type of exercise made for everyone, men and women, athletes or retired athletes. Whether you want to lose weight or gain muscle, Pilates helps with core strength, breath work, flexibility, muscle toning, reducing stress, posture and so much more,” said Wright.

Wright suggests one to three classes weekly. The classes are 60 minutes, 50 for exercise and 10 for stretching and relaxing.
