Downtown is too dark

While driving through downtown Tullahoma on Lincoln St after dinner Saturday evening, I once noted how unsafely dark it is in downtown. Especially where the crosswalk is.

The decorative street lamps might look nice, but they provide little light where it’s most needed — for pedestrians crossing the street and between the parked cars. Given the restaurants and bars in downtown and the number of patrons at night, our downtown is a tragic accident waiting to happen.

We need proper street lighting in downtown; the kind that puts the light down onto the street and people, rather than decorative lights on posts that look nice but do little for safety.
