McLayne Bobo signs with MTSU

The star senior athlete for Tullahoma High School, McLayne Bobo, after announcing her commitment to attend MTSU and be a part of their basketball program back in August, has now put pen to paper on this statement. On Nov. 17, in front of her family, teammates, friends, and coaches Bobo officially signed with the University of Middle Tennessee.

Bobo, after already having a promising start to her high school career as an underclassman, really took off and established herself as a high-level player in her junior season. She surpassed 1,000 points in her high school career last season and was named the district MVP in the regular season. She was also then named the district tournament MVP. This came after the Lady Wildcats went on to win the district title, defeating Franklin County 49-31. Bobo had 11 points in the game.

Overall, in the year, she averaged 16.7 points and four rebounds. This play and accolades certainly got her on the radar of college programs, including the staff of the Lady Blue Raiders.

Bobo will look to continue to add on to her impressive resume of high school hoops in her senior season. In her first game this year against Oakland on Nov. 18, she had nine points. Her play will be monitored on a larger scale this year, as her name is now known more statewide. In an article done by the Tennessean, she was listed as one of the players being nominated for Nashville TSSAA Girls Basketball Preseason Player of the Year.
