Tullahoma by the numbers

Retail sales in November increased 2.41% over November 2024. For the first five months of the fiscal year, sales tax collections are up 7.59% over the first five months of the last fiscal year. The reporting of retail sales are one month behind as merchants have a month to report their sales.

In Manchester sales tax collections increased 2.38% November over November 2024. In rural Coffee County sales tax collections increased 41.55% November 2025 over November 2024.

In December ten companies received business licenses to operate in Tullahoma. One is based out of town, four appear to be home-based and six have store fronts.

Fifteen companies or individuals pulled permits to build in Tullahoma in December. The total value of the permits is $2,084,288.  There were four new residential permits pulled for an average value of $467,566.

In December 78 babies were born at Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton Hospital. In 2025, 606 babies were born at the hospital, the largest number born in at least ten years.

The Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors reported 36 single family homes were sold in Tullahoma in December at an average price of $336,127. The total inventory of homes available for sale is 197. The average time to close is 73 days.

In 2025, 427 listings were closed. The average home sold in 2025 was 1,830 square feet at a cost of $331,900. The most expensive home sold in Tullahoma in 2025 was 6,737 square feet for $1,500,000.

The Tullahoma Fire Department reported three structure fires, nineteen public education visits and 182 medical/first responder calls in December. There were 960 training hours completed.

The Park and Rec Department reported 2,345 active members in December.

Tullahoma Public Works picked up 659 tons of residential garbage and 465 tons of commercial garbage in December. The department also collected and sold 61 tons of cardboard in December. There were 1718 bio bags collected and 180 loads of loose leaves hauled in December.

The Tullahoma Animal Shelter reported 44 animals left the shelter in December.

The Tullahoma Police Department answered 1,813 calls, worked 45 traffic accidents (8 with injury), issued 145 citations and made 122 arrests during December. There were six police officer positions open the end of December.

The state of Tennessee does not provide unemployment data by city. The unemployment rate in Coffee County in October (latest month available) 2025 was 3.7%.
