Decherd men charged with road rage shooting

Two Decherd men have been charged with opening fire during a road rage incident in Bedford County.
The suspects have been identified by Bedford authorities as Isaiah Rippy, charged with Criminal Responsibility for the Facilitation of a Felony and Christopher Deal, charged with one count of Aggravated Assault and three counts of Reckless Endangerment
According to the Bedford Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a road rage incident in which shots were fired where no injuries were reported.
“Detectives arrived on scene and began their investigation,” the Bedford Sheriff’s Office revealed. “During the course of the investigation, a community member shared information through a Facebook post, which allowed members of the public to provide valuable tips. That information was relayed directly to detectives and proved instrumental in developing leads.”
As a result of these efforts, detectives were able to identify and arrest the two individuals from Decherd.
“We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the members of the public who came forward with information,” the sheriff’s office said. “Your willingness to assist plays a critical role in helping us keep our community safe.”
The exact lead up to the shooting was not revealed by authorities.
