Ken Jordan Obituary

Ken Jordan, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud Vietnam veteran, passed away on Nov. 1, 2023 at the age of 74. He was born on Nov. 21, 1948 in Washburn, Maine to Beecher and Edna Jordan.

Ken served his country with honor during the Vietnam War, as a member of the United States Army. His courage, dedication, and unwavering sense of duty earned him the respect of his comrades and the gratitude of his nation. He achieved the rank of E-5. Ken was a recipient of the US Army Accommodation Medal and was part of the 57th Assault Helicopter Company.

After leaving Vietnam, he was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington where he met his future wife. After his military service, Ken worked at Boeing. During his 38 years with Boeing, Ken, also known as “Red” by his coworkers, was a team lead over various groups: machine shop, weld shop, wood shop, and AOG shop. He was a Machinist Union 751 Stewart, where he advocated tirelessly for the rights and well-being of his fellow workers, leaving a lasting legacy of solidarity and camaraderie. Ken retired from Boeing in 2011. He and his wife later moved to Tennessee, where they retired to.

A devout believer in God, Ken was an active member of his local church community where he found strength, solace, and inspiration in his faith. He lived his life with strong spiritual convictions.

In his free time, Ken enjoyed creating beautiful wooden pieces in his workshop where he poured his talent into each piece. Ken also enjoyed watching wildlife, especially the deer that wandered onto his property. He enjoyed finding time for fishing and traveling. Ken loved his dogs, Misty and Pepper, and would spoil them with treats and attention. Ken was a man who was always doing something, unable to sit still.

Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Cindy, and their children Shannan, Mindy, Shaun (Joey), Cathy (Erwin), and Joey (Crystal). He is also survived by his brother Bob (Debbie) and sister-in-law Millie. He was preceded in death by his parents Beecher and Edna, and siblings Gerald, Kay, and Wilda. Ken was a grandfather, known as “Poppy,” to eight grandchildren Kaelyn, Kelsey, Ash, Reily, Callie, Clara, Noah, and Gracie. He also has many nieces and nephews.

Ken Jordan will be remembered for his strong character, dedication, and caring nature. He leaves behind a legacy of service and love for his family, community, and country.

A memorial service to celebrate Ken’s life will be held on Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. at

First Baptist Church in Tullahoma, located at 108 E Grundy St. with a reception to follow.
