Mary Edith Anthony Obituary
Mary Edith Anthony of Tullahoma, born Sept. 13, 1937 in Moore County, passed from this life on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 at Vanderbilt-Harton Hospital at the age of 86.
Before enjoying her retirement, Mary was employed by Genesco, later known as SAS Shoes, for more than 25 years.
In addition to her parents, Charlie Wesley Price and Nancy Mae Price Childers, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Charles Lee Anthony, daughter, Rosa Marie Anthony, brother, G.W. Price and sisters, Opal Alcocer and Elsie Grant.
She is survived and will be dearly missed by her baby sister Doris Kasinger and husband Lenzie of Maynard, AK, three sons, Michael Anthony(Tracy) of Manchester, Stephen Anthony(Jan) of Shelbyville, Justin Anthony of Shelbyville, daughter, Patricia Kloeppel(Tony) of Lynn Haven, FL, nine grandchildren, Melissa Evans(Elroy), Jeremy Anthony(Kasey), Shannon Reynolds(Keven), Erin Lamb(Chris), Amy Anthony-King(Zach), Christina Kloeppel, Jacob Kloeppel, Katrina Carr, and Keith Carr, twenty one great grandchildren, Natalie Evans, Bridgett Evans, Shaun Evans, Hunter Anthony, Adalynn Anthony, Jack Anthony, Anna Kay Reynolds, Aiden Reynolds, Alayna Matthews, Lauryn Matthews, Anthony “Jet” Lamb, LilyGrace Lamb, Carson Meadows, Care Neuner, Jada Burk, Clay Ratzlaff, Veronica Ratzlaff, Chase Teeples, Landon Whright and Zohie Carr, one great-great grandchild, Ezra Batts.
Mary is also survived by a brother in law, Ernest Anthony(Bonnie), sister in law, Liz Baker, Sue Arnold, Diane Boyd and Becky Thornberry, devoted niece, Brenda Bell, nephews, Kenneth Roland, Timmy Roland, Chris Anthony and Jonathan Anthony as well as a multitude of other loved ones and friends.
Among Mary’s favorite pastimes were the many hours spent playing cards and board games with her children and grandchildren and eventually her great grandchildren. Rolling several Yahtzees in one game was always one of Mary’s special talents much to the chagrin of her family! She loved to hear her home alive with the sounds of her great-grandchildren celebrating holidays and birthdays and looked forward to and enjoyed spending time with family and friends on the back porch of her home on Anthony Lane.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024 in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from noon till 2 p.m. Burial will follow the services at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
