Gerald “Jerry” Dewayne Anderton Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” Dewayne Anderton, 62, of Tullahoma, formerly of Estill Springs, departed this life on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Anderton was born in Manchester to the late Billy Wayne Anderton and Billie Sue Bean Anderton on Aug. 11, 1961. He was last employed with Lee Company in Nashville, as a Master Plumber. Mr. Anderton was a member of the New Brick Church of Christ in Estill Springs. He was an avid U.T. fan and loved to watch all SEC games. He was a sports enthusiast that loved all sports. He had a mischievous personality and loved playing pranks on family and friends. He had a way of making people like him, he never met a stranger. He enjoyed playing Tonk. It was almost a year ago that he lost his beloved Portia, he mourned her passing daily.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Anderton was preceded in death by his wives, Cathy Harris Anderton and Portia Duncan Anderton, infant brother, Christopher Anderton, sister, Renee Sue Gowen.
He is survived by his son, Eric Anderton of Nashville, brother, Robbie Anderton of Manchester, Lifetime friend and caregiver, Sheri Mason of Tullahoma, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bill Williams, officiating. Visitation will be held from noon on Saturday until service time at 2 p.m.
Interment will follow in the New Brick Cemetery in Estill Springs with friends serving as pallbearers.
