Lowell Samuel Towry Obituary
Lowell Samuel Towry of Tullahoma passed away on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family at the age of 86.
Mr. Towry was born in Hazel Green, AL to the late George and Ruby Pepper Towry. During his life, Lowell served his country as a member of the Army National Guard, and worked as a bookkeeper for Bryan Oil Company, where he retired after many decades. Lowell loved Bluegrass music, and spent his summers going to festivals all around the area. He became the best banjo player in his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Towry was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Towry; one brother, Tommy Towry; and one sister, Sandra Boyles.
He is survived by four daughters, Christy Hanson (Mark), Kay Hatfield (Steve), Kim Towry, and Sammie Baker (Cliff); one brother, Wendell Towry (Shirley); three grandsons, Eric Hatfield (Samantha), Mason Hatfield (Lindsay), and Kayn Baker; and one great-grandson, Macon Hatfield.
Funeral services will take place Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. in the Kilgore Funeral Home chapel with Jeremy Towry officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
