James Francis York, 88, of Winchester, passed away on March 13, 2024. Jimmy was born on Oct. 4, 1935, in Tullahoma to the late William F. York, Jr and Willette Vandygriff York. He was a 1954 graduate of Tullahoma High School, attended Middle Tennessee State University and served in the National Guard. He worked at Tullahoma Parts and Service, a family business and for thirty-five years at AEDC, before his retirement in 2000. Jimmy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Tullahoma and First United Methodist Church in Winchester. He loved to read about history, and cheer on the University of Tennessee. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Ingrid York; daughter, Stacey York Morris; sons, James Forrest York and Evan Murphy York; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jon Thomas York and William F. York, III.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, in Tullahoma. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home 300 1st Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398, (931)967-2222, www.moorecortner.com.
