Anthony “Tony” Carroll Phillips Obituary
Anthony “Tony” Carroll Phillips, 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Tullahoma on Monday, June 3, 2024.
Tony was born Aug. 16, 1945, in Bremen, GA, to Hilda Carroll and Walter Phillips, Jr. Following high school, he enlisted for two tours in the Army. After surgical training at the MASH 8063rd in Korea, Tony served at the 24th Evacuation Hospital at Long Binh, Vietnam, earning the rank of E6 Staff Sergeant.
A University of Tennessee graduate, Tony went on to a successful career in business. He enjoyed sailing, golf, and Tennessee football, and was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his wife Paulette Phillips; brother Ronald J. Phillips and wife Emily; Uncle Charles Carroll and aunt Betty Joe Parsons; son Gregory Phillips; daughters Jennifer Norvell and Kelly Jeub; nephew Jeffrey Phillips; grandchildren Shelby Holt, Caleb, Georgia, and Gabriel Norvell, and Christian Sanders; six great grandchildren and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Tony’s name be made to Hospice of the Highland Rim Foundation, Tullahoma, TN, 931-563-7439.
