Frankie D. Golden Obituary

Frankie D. Golden, 86, of Lynchburg, passed from this life on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

A native of Moore County, he was born on Nov. 2, 1937, in Lynchburg to the late Carnice and Mae Golden. He made his living doing what he loved, farming cattle and tobacco. Frankie enjoyed spending his spare time on the farm and cherished the times he was surrounded by family, especially on Sunday when everyone gathered around the table for Sunday Dinner. He loved sharing his passion and traditions of family with everyone from his children to great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Golden; brother, J.C. (Myra) Golden; and brother-in-law, Jim Burton. Frankie is survived by his wife, Clara Mae Golden; son, Kenneth (Anita) Golden; grandchildren, Bradly Golden, and Mandie (Derek) Harris; great-grandchildren, Layla and Barrett Harris, all of Lynchburg; brother, Melvin (Glenda) Golden of Shelbyville; sisters, Rosa Burton of Shelbyville; and Elizabeth (Jimmy) Millsaps of Lynchburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Funeral Services will follow at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Lynchburg Cemetery with Tommy Branch, Jeff Millsaps, Daryl Patterson, James Crittenden, Anthony O’Neal, and Sam O’Neal serving as pallbearers.
