Erma Jean Collins Rainey Obituary

Erma Jean Collins Rainey of Tullahoma passed from this life on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, at Elk River Health in Winchester at the age of 84 years.

A native of Winchester, she was born on Oct. 19, 1940, to the late James Lee and Florence Rogers Collins. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Jimmy Collins and Larry Wayne Collins and Son-in-law Ray Stephens.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, from the Chapel of Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home in Tullahoma. Burial followed at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma.

Erma worked as a Teller at First National Bank as well as a proofreader at The Herald Chronicle and Tullahoma News. She loved dancing, singing, and playing card games. She was also member of College Street Baptist Church. Her survivors include her husband of 63 years Eugene Rainey, daughters Diana Stephens, and Deborah Ducker (Michael Ducker) and son David Rainey, sisters JoAnn Phillips, and Jenny Warrington, four grandchildren, Tiffany Taylor (Marcus Taylor), Shawn Barnes (Pam Barnes), Sarah Miller (Jack Miller), and Caelan Ducker, five great grandchildren, Ronan Taylor, Jericho Barnes, Lily Taylor, Kendra Barnes, and Helena Miller. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association at 1801 West End Ave. Suite 200 Nashville, Tennessee 37203.
