Katherine Wells Ball Obituary
Katherine Wells Ball (Kitty) died on Nov. 23, 2024 in Buford, Georgia after a journey around the sun just shy of 94 times.
She began her earthly sojourn in Richmond, Virginia on Dec. 11, 1930. Her time in the “Capital of the South” was highlighted by a primary and secondary education in the Richmond Public School system and then at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Kitty graduated in 1952 with a Bachelor’s degree in teaching and served as an elementary school teacher in the Richmond metropolitan area. Within a year, Kitty soon began her most important pursuits as she married a Virginia Military Institute graduate and United States Air Force bound pilot, Theodore Macklin Ball, Jr. Her greatest accomplishments can be summarized by a few simple words: devout wife and homemaker of 67 years, consummate mother and mentor of two sons, Theodore M. Ball, III and John E. Ball, committed child of God and faithful follower of Jesus Christ at First Presbyterian Church of Tullahoma for 63 years. Kitty was all about loving her family and friends, stewarding her time and efforts and resources for the betterment of everyone she knew, leaving a legacy of an exemplary and dutiful contributor to her community’s well-being and her fellowman’s honor. She was a vessel of goodness and kindness and an allegiant citizen of local, statuary, and national interests of the United States of America.
Katherine W. Ball is survived by her sons; John E. Ball and his wife Pamala (Buford, GA), Theodore M. Ball, III (Tullahoma); grandchildren Natalie K. Ball (Buford, GA), Olivia L. Rosell and her husband Tyler (Buford, GA), Madeline J. Cambara and her husband Rolando(Buford, GA), and Samantha L. Twaddell and her husband Joey (Athens, GA); great-grandchildren Elijah Ball, Owen Rosell, Theo Rosell, (baby girl Rosell on her way!),Hope Cambara, Gracie Cambara, and Gabriel Cambara.
Because of the fidelity of her Faith, the integrity of her character, and the compassion in her heart Kitty, Katherine, mother, dear wife, friend, sister, daughter, nana, and aunt will lovingly and warmly be remembered by many.
Kitty’s final resting place will be next to her husband in Arlington National Cemetery after a brief family gathering in the spring of 2025.
