Earnest Lee Hickerson Obituary

Earnest Lee Hickerson, 79, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Vanderbilt Harton Tullahoma Hospital.

He was born on June 16, 1945, in Tullahoma to the late Fred Jerome Hickerson and Beulah Hickerson. He was preceded in death by his four brothers, James Smartt, Tommy Smartt Hickerson, William Hickerson, and Earl Hickerson, as well as his uncle and aunt, Earl and Zamoria Hickerson.

Earnest dedicated over 30 years of his life to working as a graphic designer at AEDC in Tullahoma, where he became known for his creativity and artistry. A quiet and private man, Earnest found joy in his work and in the world of art. He was a proud graduate of Tullahoma High School, where he excelled in art, and later went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University in Nashville.

He leaves behind his loving sisters, Beulah Northcutt and Vorketta (Robert) Braston; two devoted nieces, Denise (Raymond) Woods and Sylvia (Calvin) Minor; as well as a host of extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Earnest will be remembered for his quiet spirit, artistic talent, and the deep love he shared with those closest to him.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery with Jerry Northcutt, officiating. Online condolences may be sent to www.weltonfuneralhome.com.
