Mary Frances Myrick Haynes Obituary

Mary Frances Myrick Haynes, affectionately known as “Fran,” passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at the age of 90.

Born on May 19, 1935, in Flintville, Tenn., Fran lived a life marked by grace, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the daughter of the late C.T. and Lyda Ruth Myrick and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Haynes. Fran and Bob were married for 56 wonderful years, sharing a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

Fran had a lifelong love of basketball, a true talent for cooking, and a joyful spirit for travel—especially when exploring the world alongside Bob. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her heart always generous. She was a wonderful listener, always ready to offer encouragement, a kind word, or simply her quiet, caring presence.

Fran was also very active in First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma, going on many mission trips and working locally to help those in need.

She is survived by her sons, Don (Mary) and Mike (Gina), and her treasured grandchildren: Nick (Lacy), Liz, and Molly. She is also survived by her sister, Doris of Flintville, Tennessee, and many loving nieces and nephews. Her family was her pride and joy, and she was a constant source of strength, comfort, and love to them all.

A service celebrating Fran’s life will be held on Aug. 2 at 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church in Tullahoma. All who knew and loved her are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a charity of your choice or a simple act of kindness in Fran’s memory—just as she gave so generously throughout her life.

Mary Frances Myrick Haynes will be remembered for her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and the boundless love she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
