THS football set to retire Jakobe Thomas’ number

Tullahoma will retire the number of one of the best players ever to put on a Wildcats football uniform. That being current player on the currently undefeated Minnesota Vikings and class of 2021 THS graduate, Jakobe Thomas.
The violent and energetic playstyle showcased by Thomas at the University of Miami in 2025 and soon to be seen at the NFL level with the Vikings, was being built long before in the threads of THS red, black, and white.
Thomas, in his senior season with the Wildcats, was a Tennessee Mr. Football Semifinalist. He had 886 rushing yards, 394 receiving yards, and 23 total touchdowns. That helped Tullahoma to have a record of 12-1; the most wins Tullahoma had since their 2008 season, when they went 12-6 overall.
Thomas was also an elite defensive player at THS, the side of the ball he plays on now. In his junior and sophomore seasons, he recorded a combined six interceptions–three each season.
Thomas’ jersey retirement will take place in the first part of halftime in Tullahoma’s game against Rockvale High School on Oct. 16.
