2021 State Champions return to Wilkins Stadium

The team that produced a memory that will live forever for Tullahoma sports fans is headed back to Wilkins Stadium. The 2021 Tullahoma High School football team will have some players come back and be recognized during the 2026 Wildcats’ next game against Rockvale High School.
TCS Communication Specialist Zach Birdsong said the following about the details of the state champs returning to Wilkins Stadium on Friday, Oct. 16. “At halftime of the game, Tullahoma High School will be honoring the 2021 THS football team that won the Class 4A Title after a thrilling overtime battle with Elizabethton. All former players, trainers, and managers are being asked to reach out to Coach Olive.”
Despite the down year in 2026, THS football still has the capability to be a top-tier program. Whoever returns from the 2021 team on Friday is a good reminder of that.
In 2021, the moment the Wildcats hit the gridiron in their opening game against Shelbyville Central High School, it was clear they were a special group.
They scored 24 or more points in 13 of 15 games. They also had one of the most dominant five-game stretches in THS football history. Starting with an Oct.1 matchup against Hillwood High School and ending with an Oct.29 game against Glencliff High School, Tullahoma outscored their opponents 197-6.
That surely gave them some confidence in their next five games of the season, with their last of the five being their state title game against Elizabethton, where they won 21-14 in OT.
Tullahoma got the lead in OT with a five-yard TD catch from Jacob Dixon that was thrown by Ryan Scott. Elizabethton then had to match the score, but Tullahoma ended the game with an interception caught in the end zone by Wildcat Krys Uselton.
There is still room for more memories like this in THS football down the line. The program has established roots of success, and that is a positive trait not many high school programs have.
