Arnold Community Council announces 2026 scholarship opportunities

The Arnold Community Council (ACC) is now accepting applications for its 2026 Scholarship Program, offering three $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the region. This year’s program includes a new Advanced Technology & Skilled Craft Scholarship, created to recognize and support students pursuing high-demand technical and skilled trade careers.

The ACC scholarship program began in 2024 to honor the legacies of two long-time civic and community leaders, Mike Niederhauser and Claude Morse, whose lifelong service supported Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) and the surrounding communities.

In addition, the ACC developed a new scholarship to highlight the essential role of technicians, craftsmen, and technologists who contribute to aerospace testing, advanced manufacturing, and national defense missions at AEDC. The new scholarship is specifically designated for students planning to pursue advanced technology, skilled trades, or technical career pathways, including programs such as industrial maintenance, welding, machining, electrical or mechanical systems, engineering technology, advanced manufacturing, or related fields.

“These scholarships are intended to support students with strong work ethic, leadership, and a desire to serve—whether they attend college, technical training, or skilled craft programs,” said ACC Scholarship Committee Chairman Beverly Lee.
