A local man was killed Christmas morning when he crashed his motorcycle off Highway 130.

The cyclist, David Gipson, 59, was fatally injured in the accident that happened near the intersection of State Route 130 and Bettye Lane in Franklin County.

A preliminary investigation of the crash by the Tennessee Highway Patrol revealed that Gipson was traveling north on Highway 130 on his 2018 Harley Davidson around 9:33 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and traveled off the road to the left side.
