Food Insecurity: American Genocide

This month the Executive Branch withheld food stamps from millions of poor people as a ploy to get democrats to cave in and to republican demands took withholding food stamps (SNAP benefits) to the Supreme Court. The Judicial Branch of our Republic gladly obliged.

Funds for the SNAP program are being released right now, but with high inflation on practically everything, they don’t go very far. There are strict guidelines as to what you can buy with them.

The SNAP program helps feed 690,000 men, women, and children in Tennessee. More than 66% of the SNAP recipients are households with children, more than 37% are families where at least one member is disabled or elderly, and yes contrary to popular belief, people on SNAP have jobs. Taxpayers will have a big surprise next year too.

According to Congress’s Big Beautiful Law, Tennessee taxpayers must now pay an extra 25% of SNAP administrative costs totaling $78 million dollars.

Congress says, the cuts in services to Tennesseans are necessary to pay for the tax breaks in the law, with the majority of that money going to the richest among us.
