The Tullahoma Airport Authority has selected Ashley Udick as interim manager of Tullahoma Municipal Airport.
The airport authority board voted to appoint Udick at its regular meeting on Nov. 11. Her appointment was approved by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen at the special call board meeting on Nov. 20.
Udick brings extensive aviation operations experience to the role, most recently serving as head of the Office of the CEO at Click Bond, Inc., and director of FBO operations at Aero Centers, where she directed construction of terminals, hangars and fuel facilities while managing budgets and vendor contracts.
She previously served as interim airport and FBO director for the City of Winter Haven, Fla., where she secured millions of dollars in federal and state aviation grants and served as liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Transportation on operations and capital development projects.
Udick has also held general manager positions at Sonoma Jet Center in Santa Rosa, Calif., and Sheltair Aviation Services in Pompano Beach, Fla., where she increased fuel flow 40% by launching NOAA Hurricane Hunters fueling operations.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace sciences with a concentration in aerospace administration from Polk State College and maintains expertise in FAA, TSA, DOT, OSHA and NFPA 407 compliance. Udick is a member of the National Business Aviation Association and serves on the Lakeland Linder International Airport Advisory Board.
Her industry recognition includes nominations for Polk Emerging Leader in 2021 and 2022, selection to Airport Business magazine’s 40 Under 40 AvPros in 2021, and Aviation International News FBO Survey’s Top 41 Above & Beyond award in 2019.
Udick will be contracted by the Tullahoma Airport Authority to manage daily operations while a permanent manager selection process is conducted. She steps in to replace John Miller, who was temporarily appointed interim Airport Manager at the special call meeting on Oct. 2. The Tullahoma Airport Authority wishes to thank General Miller for his temporary interim service during this permanent management search and transition.
“I want to thank both General Miller and Tullahoma Airport Authority Board Chairman, Karla Smith, for their tireless efforts in managing the airport for these past many weeks.” states City Administrator, Jason Quick. “They both put in long hours daily and weekly to ensure operations remained steady. Their commitment to maintaining those operations and supporting airport staff during this transition period was truly remarkable. The community owes a huge debt to them both.”
The permanent Airport Manager position is currently open and accepting applications on the city’s website or by clicking here. All qualified and interested parties are invited to apply.
