‘Get Fizzy with It’ among new businesses

Scrolling through the September Tullahoma Business Licenses, it’s hard to miss “Get Fizzy with It” and “Hudjera’s Alley Magic.”
Side gig with a splash of fun
First, Get Fizzy With It. This new food trailer concept is the side gig and brainchild of health insurance professionals husband and wife team of Miki Brooks and Cohdy Bolden. New to Tullahoma, and with two daughters in college, “We wanted something new that would keep us active and connected to the community. We’ve always loved bringing joy to others, and ‘Get Fizzy With It’ lets us do exactly that. This business gives us the chance to be a part of local events, meet amazing people and make someone’s day a little more fun,” offered Mrs. Brooks.
So what do the Brooks’ do? They mix fizzy, dirty drinks that make people smile.
According to Mrs. Brooks, “It’s all about taking a regular soda and making it extra by adding syrups, creams, purees or popping Boba to create a totally custom drink. We like to think it’s all about having a good time with a custom, bubbly drink in hand.”
After hours and hours of testing hundreds of combinations, the Brooks, so far, have developed 26 custom drinks. Their most popular drink is Bad Fizzy Romance. Mrs. Brooks described the combo, “mixes Coke, vanilla syrup, cherry syrup, a splash of half and half with a whipped cream topping and for a special measure a maraschino cherry on top-a sweet, smooth drink like a cherry coke but with a twist.”
Other drinks include Pink Pony Club, Over the Rainbow and Golden Hour Blondie. They also offer iced coffee “because I just love coffee”.
The Brooks are currently hard at work mixing combinations for their new line of fizzy Christmas drinks.
‘The Get Fizzy With It’ team is booked at several upcoming school and community events. Check out their Facebook page to catch up or to book them.
They will be in a bright pink food trailer you can’t miss. So get fizzy with it.
A young man and his dream
29 year old Kody Hudjera practically grew up with a bowling ball in his hand.
In his words, “Ever since I could walk, I was either throwing a plastic ball at pins down the hallway in our home or at the alley knocking down pins with a White Dot.”
Hudjera attended college on a bowling scholarship at McKendree University, where he majored in Marketing and Sales. He also learned the game and more in depth knowledge from the top coaches in the country including Dennis Knepper, Bryan O’Keefe and Shannon O’Keefe.
So it’s no surprise Hudjera is now the owner of Hudjera’s Alley Magic at Tullahoma Lanes. This is Hudjera’s first business to own.
An excellent, but modest bowler, Hudjera has shot multiple 300 games in his young bowling career.
“Offering everything a bowler needs”, Hudjera’s shop carries everything from beginner level bowling balls to more advanced level balls. He also carries cleaning products for bowling balls, tape, arm and wrist supports, shoes made for bowling as well as bags and backpacks.
Hudjera can also drill the bowling balls matching his client’s fit, pitch and thumb and finger sizes.
And if all that is not enough, he will soon start offering lessons.
It’s obvious Hudjera has a love and passion for the game. “I’ve always loved learning the game, learning the finer details, helping others out and representing my community. Having the opportunity to open up this business was a dream come true.”
Hudjera invites bowlers and individuals wanting to try the game to stop by his shop. “I don’t want you to feel stressed about buying a ball. We want you to feel at home, welcomed, and be somewhere you can come, chill and chat.”
Hudjera’s Alley Magic is open Monday and Wednesday 1 p.m. to 8:30pm, Tuesday 1pm to 6 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Tullahoma Lanes and Hudjera’s Alley Magic are located at 900 South Anderson Street.
