THS XC competes at the MSCCA Championship

The Tullahoma High School XC team picked up some solid results at the MSCCA Championship on Oct. 18.
The Wildcats XC team picked up some decent momentum going into their most important event of the season on Oct.27, this past weekend. At the MSCCA championship, they had both a girl and a boy place within the top fourth of a large pool of competitors.
Lukas Price on the boys’ team finished in 79th place out of 340 competitors. He had a time of 18:42.08. First place at the event in the boys’ division belonged to Asher Oates of Independence High School, where he finished with a time of 15:24.23. His time was nearly a minute ahead of second place, who had a time of 16:22.28. The Tullahoma boys’ team, overall, placed sixth out of 13 teams at the event.
On the girls’ team for Tullahoma KG Nichols, placed 68th out of 260 competitors. Her time was 22:47.70. First and second place at the event belonged to sisters from Rockvale High School: Leila Hailey and Lakin Hailey. Leila, in first place, had a time of 18:17.48, and Lakin, in second, had a time of 18:30.84.
Tullahoma’s next event on Oct.27 will determine qualifications for the state event. It will take place in Macon County.
“Our high school XC teams are loaded with talent. They have done really well at meets this season, and almost every runner has had a PR. Looking forward to a strong performance from both teams at our regional on 10/27,” said Wildcats XC coach Angel Dodson-Allen.
