Tullahoma’s sales tax collections surged 23% August 2025 over August 2024 according to City government Finance Director Sue Wilson. In August 2024, Tullahoma sales tax collections were $1,798,869.98. In August 2025, sales tax collections were $2,218,107.68, an increase of 23.31% year over year.
According to Wilson, “Although we tend to think of sales tax as generated by retail establishments, it often comes from other types of businesses and commercial activities making purchases for their operations. These are often one-time events but can make a large impact on the Tullahoma economy in more ways than one. Perhaps this increase is due to a sizable investment in infrastructure or equipment made by one of our local companies.”
Wilson added,” While Tullahoma continues to be a strong retail hub for southern, middle Tennessee, we are also fortunate to have a diverse group of employers in other fields who contribute to the general economy and welfare in more ways than we realize.”
For the first two months of the fiscal year, Tullahoma’s sales tax collections are up 15.32% over the same two months in 2024.
During the same month, Manchester sales tax collections were $1,117,376.03 in 2024 and grew 1.69% to $1,136,300.16 in August 2025.
In rural Coffee County, sales tax collections were $499,923.54 in August 2024 and grew 14.7% to $573,407.84 in August 2025.
