The Tullahoma XC teams for middle school and high school all raced in the Coffee County invitational. Three of the teams at the event secured top-three team finishes.
The THS girls’ team picked up a seventh-place finish, while the TMS girls picked up a third-place finish, and both the boys’ teams finished in second place. The XC program, since becoming a sanctioned sport at Tullahoma, has been putting together impressive seasons. This year seems to be no different. And with the middle school teams also putting together strong showings, the success that the programs have shown may have some serious longevity.
In the Coffee County meet, the program had seven medalists overall. For the high school boys’ team, Wyatt Dorsett finished third, and Lukas Price placed eighth. For the high school girls’ team, KG Nichols picked up a medal with a sixth place finish. The middle school girls’ team had the most athletes claim a medal with three. Ashleigh Johnson got third, Ryker Vann got eighth, and Lily Murray placed 10th. The best performance from the Tullahoma side on the day came from Lincoln price on the middle school boys’ team, who secured a first-place finish. He had a time of 00:12:25 at the event.
The XC teams will compete again this week. The middle school teams will compete at the MSCAA Championship on Sept 4, while the high school teams will compete in the Voyles Classic on the 5th. Both events will be held in Hermitage.
