Madison Goad named District MVP

Tullahoma senior infielder Madison Goad was named the District MVP. It’s her second consecutive season receiving this award.
With the career Goad has had and the season she just put forth, a District MVP is the bare minimum of awards she should receive. She ended the 2024-2025 season with a .571 batting average. The current average high school softball player’s average sits around .290. She hit 77 RBIs. This ranks first in the state and 11th most in the nation. She hit 22 home runs this year, ranking again as the most in the state and the 17th most in the country. And she also garners the best slugging percentage in the state at 1.473.
Goad is not just a great player, she might be the “great player”.
As far as Tullahoma softball history goes, she could easily be considered the greatest softball player in the history of Tullahoma. She holds four single-season records for THS: batting average (.607), home runs (22), RBIs (77), and runs (50). She also holds career records for Lady Wildcats’ softball in batting average (.526), home runs (43), and RBIs (192).
“Madison was a very good hitter when she got here as a freshman, but her work ethic in the weight room and on the practice field helped her develop into an elite hitter. Not just a power hitter but also an excellent average hitter with way above average speed on the base paths. She worked herself into a Division 1 caliber shortstop defensively as well. Madison is an incredible softball player and an even better young lady,” said the head coach of Tullahoma softball, Gary Barfield.
Goad is set to attend Volunteer State next season, and they are without a doubt getting a steal of a player.
