The THS swim team competed at regionals on Jan. 24 and had the largest team taken to the event in school history.

Ella-Gracin Bennett, Ethan Brotemarkle, Claire Fogarty, Jenna Gill, Jessica Jones, Lexi Lester, Skye Lee, Lorelei Mizell, Jacy Kate Murray, Mary James Murray, Will Nelson, Hallie Tipps, and Sarie Hoffner all represented the Wildcats at regionals.

The THS girls’ team competed in two team events and finished in the top 10 in each race. In the 200-yard medley, they finished seventh out of 29 teams, with a time of 1:44:13. They also competed in the 200-yard free relay and finished 10th out of 34 teams, and got a school best time clocking in with a 1:55:24 finish.

In the individual part of the event, the Wildcats had three of their racers finish in the top 16 in events they raced in. Ethan Brotemarkle finished 10th in the men’s 200-yard IM and finished fourth in the 100-yard free. Jacy Kate Murray finished 16th in the women’s 100-yard breast, and Hallie Tipps finished 14th in the 50-yard free and 12th in the 100-yard back.

Brotemarkle, Jacy Kate Murray, Hallie Tipps, Will Nelson, Jessica Jones, and Lorelei Mizell with their performance at regionals stamped their spots for the state tournament, as they will all represent Tullahoma on Feb. 7.

It has truly been an amazing season for the THS swim team.
