Two Wildcat softball players ink with schools

Five Tullahoma student-athletes signed to play at the college level last Thursday, with two of the five coming from the softball program.

Both Maddie Goad and Kylee Holt made their college selections official, as family, friends, and coaches watched on as their many years of hard work came to fruition.

Head Coach Gary Barfield was noticeably emotional watching the two players he has coached for four years, sign to continue their playing careers.

When the two girls finished their freshman season as Wildcats they ended their season with a 2-19 record. In their junior season, they improved to a record of 15-11.

Barfield’s emotion came for good reason as the girls have helped rebuild the softball program, and have established a new winning culture that will stay in the program even after the two play their last game for Tullahoma later this school year.

They left the Wildcat program better than they found it, and there is no doubt they will do the same on their next team.

Holt signed on to The University of Virginia’s College at Wise, and Goad signed to Volunteer State Community College.
