Tullahoma set new personal-records at the Voyles Classic

The Tullahoma High School cross country teams competed in the Voyles Classic and set 11 personal records.

The boys’ team was led by Lukas Price at 48 out of 129. The team finished 15 out of the 19 AA teams. The Lady ‘Cats were led by Brindley Duncan at 28 out of 113. The team finished 11 out of the 17 AA teams. The runners who set new personal records are: Jackson Ites, Wyatt Dorsett, Kelly Mizell, Zach Murphy, Andrew Carmack, William Nichols, Haddon Payne, Jace Fisher, Katie Grace Nichols, Julianna Ites and Kailyn Hasty.

Price finished with a time of 18 minutes and 35.57 seconds. Ites was the next ‘Cat with a time of 19:45.38. Dorsett’s new PR is now 20:48.29. Mizell was right behind him at 21:24.09. Murphy was right on Mizell’s tail with a finish time of 21:50.32. Everet Tinsley was just a few steps back, finishing with a time of 21:56.37. Carmack crossed the finish at 22:13.19 and Nichols was close by with a final time of 22:18.59. Kurt Tipps was the next Tullahoma finisher at 23:03.90. Fisher followed at 24:31.64 and Payne had a time of 30:39.01.

The next meet is for both the middle and high school cross country teams on Sept. 19 at Henry Horton Park.
