Linda Davis in concert at South Jackson Saturday

Three-time Grammy winner and songwriter Linda Davis will be in concert this Saturday, Aug. 17 at the South Jackson Performing Arts Center in Tullahoma.
The concert starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at southjackson.org.
Joining Ms. Davis are singer Lang Scott, who is also her husband, and radio personality Bill Whyte.
When contacted, Davis said she is excited to be performing in Tullahoma. “It’s a wonderful community and I love performing in smaller venues like South Jackson Performing Arts Center. It’s more intimate, like we are in your living room.”
Davis has toured with many top country stars, including Kenny Rogers, Reba McIntyre, Trisha Yearwood, and Martina McBride.
In addition to singing her songs, Davis will offer a background and history of the song.
“I anticipate we will tell many stories about the songs and stories about other performers on our tours,” said Davis. “Our set Saturday night is called “Unplugged”. I play the piano and Lang plays the guitar. We take turns singing and talking about the songs.”
Davis’s big break was her country duet with Reba McIntyre, “Does He Love You”. The song earned Davis her first Grammy.
According to Davis, “the song is about two women fighting over some lousy guy. When Reba and I would sing the song in front of an audience we would really put on a show. Reba was the “wife” and I was the “other woman”.
Davis grew up in East Texas. When asked why country music, Davis added “I grew up on the Grand Ole Opry, listening to Tammy and Loretta. I knew that was what I wanted to do, even as a little girl and set my sights on playing the Grand Ole Opry. I drove to Nashville from East Texas when I was 19 and the rest is history.”
Davis and Scott will celebrate their 40th anniversary on Aug. 24 and are the parents of Hillary Scott of Lady A.
