Tullahoma High School Wrestling team beat Shelbyville Central 57-22 at the Welsh Wrestling Center.
The night began with one girls’ match. Prudence Peterson won the battle for the Lady Wildcats by way of pin fall in the first period. Connor Avans won the first points for the boys’ team by pinning his opponent in the first period. Robert Tatum won the next points by winning his match 5-2. Brodie Minor won 6 points via forfeit. Kiivon Butler won another 6 points by way of pin in the second period. Zachary Murphy won the next match by pin in the second period. Andres Hamilton and Nolan Stroop won 6 points each from a forfeit. Julian Cole won a forfeit. Caiden Mears pinned his opponent in the first period to give the Wildcats a 51-22 lead. Corbin Avans ended the match with a win by pin the second period.
The ‘Cats and Golden Eagles grappled some exhibition matches on the night. Minor won his with a pin in the first period. Cael Treuhaft won his with a pin in the third period. Hunter Roberts won by way of pin fall in the first. Lane Johnson and Adrian Swearington both won with a pin in the first period. Matthew Swiger pinned his opponent in the second period. Chandler Kile won his match 14-7 and Lukas Agnell pinned his opponent in the first period. Tullahoma won 8 out of 11 exhibition matches.
The Wildcats will be back on the mat Jan. 2 at Eagleville. The next time the Wildcats will be at the Welsh Wrestling Center is Jan. 18 for Senior Night.
