Teresa Faye Sebourn Obituary

Teresa Faye Sebourn, of Tullahoma, passed from this life on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville at the age of 55. Teresa was born in Tullahoma to Ray and Shirley Webb Wilmoth who both survive.

During her life she was a beloved elementary school teacher at both East Lincoln and Bel-Aire Elementary Schools. She was fiercely devoted to her students, working many hours each evening and weekends to prepare her lessons. She also volunteered for extra services such as coordinating local business support for Bel-Aire school through the Tullahoma Chamber CEO program.

Teresa loved to travel and enjoyed new experiences. Even through failing health, in the last year she traveled to San Diego, Los Angeles, and Gatlinburg, enjoying the sights with her children. She also enjoyed attending musical and theatrical performances with her husband, especially at the South Jackson Civic Center.

Most of all, she was a supporter of her children. Teresa loved nothing more than watching her children perform in sporting events, band performances and musical performances, especially Peggy Burton’s South Jackson Goes Country which the family performs in each year. Teresa was an ardent supporter of the Tullahoma High School band, attending competitions and concerts even after her children had graduated.

Teresa was a devoted Christian, wife and mother. She was a member at the Westwood Church of Christ and could often be found teaching children’s Bible classes, hosting women’s Bible studies in her home, or simply encouraging others with a spiritually minded text message or social media post.

In addition to her parents, Teresa is survived by her husband, Lynn Sebourn; two daughters, Lyndsey (Sean) Denn, and Hope Sebourn; one son, Jared Sebourn; and two sisters, Cindy (Jeff) Scott and Melissa (Brent) Green.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. with Paul Smithson and Jim Mickells officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Teresa’s memory be made to the Bel-Aire Indigent Fund, c/o Bel-Aire Elementary School, 504 Stone Blvd. Tullahoma, TN 37388.

Kilgore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
