Lady Wildcats’ season comes to end

Tullahoma played their Sub-State game at Signal Mountain and lost 3-0.

The Lady ‘Cats finished the regular season with an 11-1-2 overall record going 4-1 in District during regular season to finish second. They won their home district tournament game against Central Magnet to advance to district Championship game at Franklin County. They lost on penalty kicks and had to travel to Livingston Academy for their Region semi-final game. The Lady Wildcats took care of business there to set up another match in Franklin County. Unfortunately Tullahoma fell short and had to travel for the Sub-State game. Claire Fogarty made five saves in the game, but the Lady ‘Cats were unable to match the Lady Eagles three goals.

Throughout the season Fogarty tallied 71 saves and only allowed 16 goals in the 17 games she played in. Anzley Holloway played in 10 games. She made 11 saves and only gave up three goals. McLayne Bobo set the record for goals in a single-season with 39 this season. Catelynn Ballard was second in goals for the team with 11. Avery Sisk and Gracie Martin both had nine. Brindley Duncan knocked in eight goals. Harper McShea scored six, Alexis Chamblee had five, Faith Vincent with four, Macy Marcel scored three while Jossalyn Garcia and Lauren Nichols both added one. The team assisted on 50 of the 96 goals scored. Duncan led the team with seven. She was followed by Chamblee, Sisk and Martin with six each. Bobo had five. Ballard and McShea had four assists each. Vincent and Leah Fogarty assisted on three goals apiece. Greyson Bolle had a pair of assists. Garcia, C. Fogarty, Nichols and Marcel each had one assist.

The Lady Wildcats brought home a trophy for both District and Region runner-ups. This year was also the first time since 2005 that Tullahoma played in the Region Championship game.
