Coffee County’s 911 Emergency Communication Center has achieved a remarkable milestone by being awarded the prestigious “National Center for Missing and Exploited Children” (NCMEC) certification.
This recognition highlights the center’s unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the community and solidifies its role as a beacon of excellence in emergency response services. Coffee County joined 11 other 911 centers nationwide achieving this distinction in 2023.
“Coffee County 911’s achievement of the NCMEC certification is a remarkable testament to their dedication to child safety,” said Brenda Brown, Training Coordinator at NCMEC. “Their commitment to specialized training and advanced protocols reflects their readiness to respond effectively to incidents involving missing children. This certification not only recognizes their accomplishments but also provides assurance to families in Coffee County that their children are in capable hands.”
The certification process involved a comprehensive evaluation of Coffee County 911’s procedures, technology and staff training related to handling cases involving missing and exploited children. The center had to showcase its ability to coordinate with law enforcement agencies, disseminate critical information quickly, and ensure the seamless integration of resources to aid in the safe recovery of children.
“We are immensely proud of achieving the NCMEC certification,” stated Scott LeDuc, Director of Coffee County 911. “Our team’s dedication to protecting children and supporting families in distress is at the heart of our mission. This certification is a reflection of our continuous efforts to enhance our capabilities and provide the highest level of service to our community.”
Robert Jarman, Operations Manager for Coffee County 911, accepted the award on behalf of the Center at the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials Conference in Nashville.
As Coffee County 911 proudly celebrates this achievement, the focus remains on further advancing their capabilities in child safety. The certification serves as a reminder that the center’s dedication to the community goes beyond emergency response—it extends to providing support and resources to families during times of unimaginable stress and anxiety.
