Dandelions are beautiful

Until they change their attire

Their seeds scatter hither and yon

Spreading like wildfire.

A tumbleweed takes root in dry ground

Drying out and breaking free

Tumbling along with the wind

Scattering her tumbleweed seeds.

Like tumbleweed and dandelions

Our faith begins quite small

As small as a grain of mustard seed

As into our heart it falls.

God plants the seed, adding water and light

As we allow the Holy Spirit to help us grow

Our words and actions become His seeds

Spreading them wherever we go.

Our seeds are much different

From the dandelion and the tumbleweed

They spread only annoyance and grief

A seed of faith spreads joy … guaranteed!
