The fifth annual Fly Away Cancer benefit will be held Saturday, June 24 at the Coffee County Airfoiler Field with proceeds going to the Multi-County Cancer Support Network.
“This will be the fifth annual event and we have raised $20,000 to date for Multi County Cancer Support Network,” said event organizers and club member Bill Crawford while inviting the public to enjoy a day of remote control flying.
The day-long remote control flying exhibition will be held at the club’s airstrip off Wattendorf Highway. The event is free to spectators but donations are accepted and there will be a raffle drawing. Gates open at 9 a.m. with raffle to follow at 3 p.m. For info call Bill at 615-969-9288.
Those who attend the event will get to view the wide variety of remote control aircraft and witness enthusiasts flying their remote control devices. Club members also offer free flight instruction for beginners, complete with a virtual trainer along with a pilot-assisted flight of a real RC aircraft.
