Mildred Louise Jenkins Edwards passed this life on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at NHC in Murfreesboro at the age of 96. Mildred was born in Detroit, Michigan, the only child to the late Howard and Rosa Hall Shelton. She graduated from Moore County High School in 1947 and was the Valedictorian of her senior class. Mildred went on to teach in a one-room schoolhouse for one year. She then went to work at Wilson Sporting as a payroll clerk and ended her working career as a payroll clerk at Roses Department Store in Murfreesboro. Mildred was a member of Rockvale Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, E.B. Jenkins.

Mildred is survived by her son, Keith (Teresa) Jenkins; daughter, Phyllis Ann (Boyd) Isiminger; grandchildren, three Keisha Marie (Brandon) Craddock, Kimberly Rose (Conner) Lamberson, and Clayton Isiminger; and four greatgrandchildren, Landon, Austin, Beau, and Emma Rose.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Kilgore Funeral Home. The funeral service was held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Luke Elrod officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Kilgore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
