Ron Hart gets it wrong

The April 22 opinion piece from Ron Hart demonstrates the sad decline of public discourse in America. He employs the full gamut of tactics to appeal to those who accept opinion as fact—as long as it confirms their own poorly informed bias.

“But what about” is the most common; Tara Reade defected to Russia after her accusations of rape were shown to be frivolous. She now works for the Russian state news outlet. By contrast, Donald Trump lost his rape case and owes E. Jean Carroll $88.3 million. One discredited accusation does not outweigh a jury’s finding in most people’s understanding.

Hart accuses Democrats of widespread coordinated corruption but offers only conjecture and speculation as proof. He conveniently ignores the scandalous behavior of Republicans Gonzales, Mils, Reed, Farenthold, Franks and Meehan but cites Katy Perry as an “American astronaut”. He condemns the “Me Too” movement for accusations against “innocent men” and indulges in the same behaviors he claims to find repugnant.

Ron Hart feeds a public ravenous for hatred. We deserve better.
