HOSC announces summer camp lineup: Camp Create and Innovate

The Hands-On Science Center has announced the return of its highly anticipated summer camp program: Camp Create and Innovate 2026.
Packed with exciting experiments, engaging guest speakers, and unforgettable hands-on activities, this year’s camp promises to spark curiosity and inspire young minds through the wonders of science.
“Join us for another year of Hands-On summer fun!” said Austin Sisco, Executive Director at the Hands-On Science Center. “We are so excited to welcome campers for a summer full of discovery, creativity, and learning. These camps are one of our favorite ways to inspire scientifi c exploration and show kids just how fun science can be.”
Each week of camp offers a unique theme designed to immerse participants in different areas of science, technology, engineering, and innovation:
• Week 1 (May 25–May 29): Powering Movement! (Sports Science and Nutrition)
• Week 2 (June 1–June 5): Shocking Discoveries! (Energy & Electricity)
• Week 3 (June 8–June 12): When worlds collide! (Science of Sound, Art, and Music)
• Week 4 (June 15–June 19): Elemental Explorers Camp (Chemistry and Geology)
• Week 5 (June 22–June 26): Little Meteorologists Camp (Weather)
• Week 6 (June 29–July 3): Lions, Tigers and Bears- Oh My! (Animals/Biology)
• Week 7 (July 6–July 10): Out of this world science! (Space)
• Week 8 (July 13–July 17): Coding places (Robotics) • Week 9 (July 21–July 24): Building connections (Engineering)
• Week 10 (July 27–July 30): Applied Technology (Manufacturing) From exploring the science behind sports performance to building robots and investigating the mysteries of space, campers will engage in hands-on learning experiences that make science exciting, accessible, and fun.
Families are encouraged to register early, as space is limited and sessions fill quickly each year. Scholarships are available.
