Nine THS soccer players receive All-District awards

Many individual awards were given to the 2026 Tullahoma High School boys’ soccer team, with eight players being listed on All-District teams–four on the first-team and four on the second–and one Wildcat player being named Midfi elder of the Year.

First-Team

Four Wildcats were put on the first team: junior Aiden Walker, senior Eli Martinez, junior Gage Allen, and junior Kaiden Grau.

Walker was a consistent player that the Wildcats could rely on offensively in 2026. His shiftiness on the ball led to many goals and promising attacks. On the season, he had the secondmost goals on Tullahoma’s roster with 12. He also had four assists. Walker’s best game of his junior season came against Franklin County High School, where he netted two goals and had one assist, in what ended up being a 6-2 win for THS. It was one of two multi-goal games for Walker in 2026.

Martinez, in his fourth and final season with Tullahoma, played extremely well. His aggressive but controlled approach on defense stifled opposing offenses’ attacks constantly. He was a tone setter on defense this season, and ever since he stepped foot on the field in a Wildcats uniform. His leadership and tenacity will certainly be missed.

Martinez and the Wildcats allowed one or fewer goals in 13 of the 19 games they played in.

Allen did not get the benefi t of joining the THS soccer team at the start of their season, due to being a part of another THS basketball team that went to state, but just as he did in his sophomore year, he made a positive impact as soon as he was on the pitch. Allen, through the 13 games he played, scored nine goals. He also had the second most assists on the team with nine assists. His best game of the season came in an 8-2 win against Battle Creek High School. In the contest, he scored three goals and had two assists.

Grau is another junior of the three Wildcats’ class of 2027 players named to the All-District First-Team, who should get people excited for Tullahoma boys’ soccer next season. He plays with high energy and is one of Tullahoma’s biggest threats to score in their set pieces. He had the third most goals on THS with 11 and also had four assists. His best game of the season came in a 6-1 district tournament win against Battle Creek. Grau scored three goals, all of which came in the first half.

Second-Team

The four players that were named to the All-District Second -Team on Tullahoma were senior Chase Dodson, senior Jack Hill, senior Jude Smith, and senior Cole Sterling.

Dodson was a great defender all season for THS. From kicking 50-yard kicks in the fall with the football team, Dodson’s kicking power came in handy in the spring. He was often designated for goal kicks or longer free kicks. His power allowed Tullahoma to flip the field and keep the ball out of their final third.

Hill was a great connector for Tullahoma this season from the right back position and provided some offense when he found himself in scoring positions. He scored two goals and had two assists on the season. Hill also notably scored the most goals he has in any season in 2026 with the Wildcats program.

Senior Smith was a calming presence all year for Tullahoma. In high-intensity moments, his mindset at the task at hand never wavered. He made the right play routinely. Smith, in his final year for THS, scored six goals and had two assists. His best game came against Franklin County High School. He scored two goals and had one assist in the game.

Senior keeper Cole Sterling had so many spectacular saves this season. He was not phased when opposing units were on a constant attack, and as any great goalkeeper is, Sterling was an elite communicator. In the season, he had a total of 76 saves and allowed 15 goals. Sterling had many great performances, but arguably his best came against Lawrence County in the district tournament semi-finals. The game went to penalty kicks, and Sterling saved two of Lawrence’s shots during the shootout that helped THS advance to the district championship game.

Jayden Sarabia

Senior Jayden Sarabia was named the district Midfi elder of the Year. He was well worthy of the award, scoring a team-high 19 goals on the season. Sarabia’s ability to create goal-threatening plays out of offensive possessions that seemed like they were going nowhere was one of the many skills he provided that led THS to have a great season. His best game of the year came against DeKalb County High School in a 7-1 win. He scored three goals and had one assist in the contest.
