Tullahoma native Danita Powell is hosting a Grand Opening this Saturday, June 6, for her new business What the Fluff? Pet Spa. A ribbon cutting will be held at 11.

The first 20 people visiting the Pet Spa will receive swag bags with coupons and goodies from local vendors. From noon to 2pm discounted nail trims, hair feathers and hair tinsels will be offered. Powell encourages her canine visitors stop by the Pup Cup bar during the Grand Opening.

Powell has been in the dog grooming business for over eight years. Powell also worked in an animal hospital in Mt. Juliet. Prior to opening her store front, Powell operated the business out of her home and offered house call grooming services.

Powell stresses What the Fluff? Pet Spa is a stress-free, one-on-one full-service boutique-style grooming salon. “There are no more than two families in the salon at one time. Your pooch can get the time and attention it deserves with one-on-one grooming. Our pets deserve places like this and I wanted to bring that level of service to Tullahoma, This is a great service for high anxiety dogs.”

What the Fluff? Pet Spa offers everything from nail trims and deshedding to full haircuts. In addition, hair tinsel and hair feathers are available for a little bit of spice. Blueberry facials are also available.

When asked what she loves most about her business, Powell was quick to respond, “My wonderful clients, the pooches and their humans. Over the past four years, we have really created a little family here at What the Fluff and that’s everything.”
