Tullahoma starts District play with win

Tullahoma traveled to Marshall County Monday night and grabbed a 10-4 win against the Tigers.
The Wildcats got back on track after a tough week last week losing both games after having a lead. Their bats erupted in the 5th inning as they scored six runs.
Tullahoma was down 1-0 after three innings, then the ‘Cats took a 2-1 lead in the 4th before adding some insurance in the 5th. The Tigers cut into the massive deficit by scoring two runs in the bottom of the 5th. The Wildcats were having none of that as they added two runs of their own to keep the seven run lead. Marshall County scored one run in the bottom of the 7th to make the final score 10-4.
The ‘Cats were very disciplined at the plate Monday, drawing six walks and only struck out three times. They tallied eight hits as a team. Wade Collins and Andre Fulmer both had two hits. Baylan Tuten knocked in two of his three RBI on a triple in the 5th inning.
Evan Tomlin threw the entire game for Tullahoma. Tomlin tallied seven strike outs, walked two batter, and gave up six hits. The pitching was much improved from last week when the ‘Cats gave up an average of nine runs.
Tullahoma will travel to take on Smyrna Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
