Vergie A. Sawyer, 95, of Estill Springs, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Vanderbilt-Harton Hospital in Tullahoma.  She was born in Moore County on Oct. 16, 1927, to the late Harvey and Dora (Woosley) Smith. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. John Gipson and Rev. Randy Alexander officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church or your home congregation.
