Middle School Wildcats running to State

The Tullahoma Middle School Cross Country teams both qualified for State during Sectionals at Buckner Park on Saturday.
The Girls’ team won the meet, beating the other 16 teams. They finished six points ahead of Fairview, the second place team. Ashleigh Johnson led the Lady ‘Cats finishing fifth overall with a time of 14:00.21. She was followed by Sophie Call at 11 with a time of 14 minutes and 36.47 seconds, Julianna Ites at 16 with a time of 14:47.67, Katie Grace Nichols at 19 in 14:53.19, Addison Vincent at 26 with a time of 15:20.30, Claire Hyden at 41 in 16:25.62 and Hannah Eakin at 52 with a time of 16:46.45.
The Boys’ team finished sixth out of 25 teams, which was good enough to qualify for the TMSAA State Championships. The Wildcats were led by Lincoln Bitton and his fourth place finish out of all runners. He came in with a time of 12:17.94. Wyatt Dorsett was next for Tullahoma at 24 in 13:25.41, followed by William Nichols at 31 with a time of 13:38.67, then Jeffery Shrum at 57 in 14:21.89, Davis Roberson at 106 with his time of 15:51.45, Owen Sohrabi at 153 in 18:03.39 and Jameson Szemodis at 171 with a time of 19:59.42.
The two teams will be at Weakly Park in Clarksville this Saturday for the TMSAA Cross Country State Championship. The Girls will run first with their time start time slated for 10 a.m. and the Boys will follow starting at 10:40 a.m. The awards will be handed out immediately following the Boys’ race. The top two teams and top eight individual runners in each race will receive awards.
