A man started the New Year the wrong way Monday morning when he slammed his truck into the side of a house in neighboring Franklin County.

The suspect, Dwight McKendrick has been charged with driving under the influence as result of the early morning crash.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Corporal Daniel Wiseman was dispatched to 3257 Fransisco Road. in reference to a wreck involving a vehicle striking a house. He arrived at 1:57 a.m. It was at that point that Corporal Wiseman observed damage to the front of the house and a black truck. The subsequent investigation found that Dwight McKendrick was the driver of the vehicle and based on evidence, he was charged with DUI.

McKendrick is being held on a $2,100.00 bond; his court date is April 18, 2024.
