Rock Creek Concert Series set for October

The new Board of Mayor and Aldermen, led by Mayor Lynn Seabourn, officially approved the annual Rock Creek Concert Series during their August 26 meeting.

The event is scheduled for October 11, at Frazier McEwen Park, with popular group The Bueller Band headlining the concert.

During the meeting City Administrator Jason Quick presented the proposal, stating “This is something that has become a tradition of late that people really look forward to.  I want to commend J.P Kraft, Parks and Rec Director. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the Bueller Band, you can go online; you’re really going to enjoy them. They are some outstanding talent … this is definitely in the budget, something that we’re anxious to get approved so we can go ahead and start the planning.”

The event aims to offer Tullahoma residents an evening of entertainment listening to music outdoors in October, without the swampy summer heat. Logistics for the event were also discussed, including a $10,128 allotment for Myers Concert Productions for stage and sound engineering support. After all accommodations the event will cost the city approximately $13,000. Aldermen expressed support for the concert, no discussion was had, and the initiative passed 7-0.

The Rock Creek Concert Series will cap a couple of weeks full of free entertainment in Tullahoma as the 41A Musical Festival will be held downtown Sept. 27-28.
